Pan African writers call for papers on Nobel laureate, Gurnah

PAN African Writers Association (PAWA) in collaboration with Uganda Women Writers Association (FEMWRITE) and Makerere University.

DATE:  23rd to 25th March 2023

VENUE:     Makerere University, Uganda

THEME:      Celebrating the Life and Works of Abdulrazak Gurnah for the future of African Literature

Papers are invited from Writers, Scholars and Literary Activists under the following Sub-Themes;

1.      Abdulrazak Gurnah’s Life In perspective

2.      The Works of Abdulrazak Gurnah

3.      Migration and African Literature

4.      Literature in African Languages

5.      African Literature and Publishing

6.      The Nobel Prize and African Literature

7.      Literature and Modern Technology

8.      Literature and Cultural Technology

9.      Indigenous Languages in African Literature

10.  The Role of Translation in African Literature

11.  Literature and Climate Change

12.  Literature, Peace Building and Security

13.  Love, Romance and Betrayal in Abdulrazak works

Each submission should have a title, an abstract of not more than 500 words, name (s) of the author(s) and their address (es) including phone numbers and email addresses.

The submission which can be in Arabic, English, French or Swahili should be in Microsoft Word, typed in Times New Roman, 12 font size and double-line spacing.

The final paper should be a maximum of 3,000 words including references, using the APA Reference Style, 7th edition.

Deadline for submission of all Abstracts is 30th December 2022

Deadline for submission of Full papers is 28th Feb 2023

Final Papers will be published by the Pan African Writers Association (PAWA) in a Conference Proceedings and by other strategic co-publishers.
