THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has revealed that there are 93,469,008 registered voters who are eligible to cast a vote in this year’s general elections. Of these, are 49,054,162 men and 44,414,846 women.
The chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, stated this today at a meeting with the 18 registered political parties in Abuja,
He urged Nigerians to disregard all insinuations, stating clearly that there is no plan to change, postpone, or cancel the elections or other scheduled events.
According to him, 49,054,162 men and 44,414,846 women will cast votes to choose the president, governors, and members of the national and state assemblies in the elections of 2023.
According to a breakdown of the data, males make up 52.5% of the total, while females account for 47.5% of the population.
Statistics also reveal that, Lagos State leads the list of states with the most registered voters with 7,060,195, followed by Kano State with 5,921,370, and Ekiti State with 987,647.
