ARSENAL pair Martin Odegaard and Mikel Arteta have been voted Premier League Player and Manager of the Month for November and December.

Gunners captain Odegaard has become only the second Norwegian to win the prize, after Manchester City’s Erling Haaland claimed the August 2022 award.

He contributed three goals and three assists across November and December, the most goal involvements by any Premier League player in that period.

Odegaard’s goals and assists helped Arsenal open up a seven-point lead at the top of the table.

The 24-year-old midfielder is the first Arsenal player to win the award since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in September 2019.

He topped an eight-man shortlist that included Casemiro, Haaland, Ben Mee, Joao Palhinha, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Kieran Trippier.

Odegaard joins Haaland, Rashford and Miguel Almiron as winners of the accolade this season.

On his part, Arteta has now won the manager award for the second time this season.

The Spaniard led Arsenal to four victories from four Premier League matches, winning away against Chelsea, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton, as well as beating West Ham United at home.

It is the fourth Manager of the Month Award won by Arteta, who has been at Arsenal since December 2019. He also claimed the honour in September 2021, March 2022 and August 2022.

Arteta beat Thomas Frank, Eddie Howe and Jurgen Klopp to the prize after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of experts.
