NAPOLI manager Luciano Spalletti is looking forward to an exciting battle tonight when his side host Juventus in a top-of-the-table Serie A clash.
With Napoli first, seven points ahead of Juventus, they will need the goals of Victor Osimhen to fend off the in-form Old Lady.
The Nigeria international is Serie A’s top scorer currently with 10 goals, while Juventus have shaken off a poor start to rack up seven straight wins in the Italian top flight.
Spalletti acknowledges that Osimhen and his teammates have to be at their best to stop Juventus from cutting the gap to four points.
“What I can promise the fans is commitment. Football is a simple game but I spend more than thirds of the day preparing for matches. I always give my utmost,” Spalletti said during his pre-match press conference yesterday.
“We must be smart and play our game without losing our shape. We have great confidence in our ability.
“Both teams will be out to win. It should make for a spectacular game.”
Spalletti praised his Juventus counterpart Massimiliano Allegri, who has multiple Serie A titles with AC and the Old Lady.
“When you have as many stellar names as Juventus, you can’t not be favourites. Allegri is the best – his track record speaks for itself,” he added.
Napoli are chasing their first Serie A title since 1990, when the legendary Diego Maradona was in the team.
On the other hand, Juventus won nine straight Serie A titles between 2012 and 2020 before Inter Milan and AC Milan broke the dominance.
