KASTINA: INEC distributes sensitive materials ahead of elections

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Katsina State began distributing sensitive materials to 34 Local Government Areas in state yesterday.

The materials, which had been in the custody of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) state branch, were dispatched yesterday afternoon in the presence of all stakeholders and members of political parties, security agencies, and INEC employees drawn from all LGAs.

In an interview, the state’s new INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Yahaya Ibrahim Makarfi, informed reporters that a lot of progress had been made in the process, with the remotest LGAs being the first to begin with.
