THE Ogun State Sector of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), has revealed that a crash that happened on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, a short distance after the Saapade Bridge, resulted in seven people being burned beyond recognition and 17 other people being injured.
According to a statement made in Abeokuta, the state’s capital, by Florence Okpe, the Public Education Officer and Chief Routes Commander the fatal collision happened today around 9am./
A Toyota Sienna with the license plate BWR762PV and a Mazda bus with the license plate BDN18 LG were both involved in a crash.
According to the FRSC, the Sienna bus followed a “one-way” and crashed into the Mazda bus because it was traveling at high speed and was in violation of the route.
The reports further reveal that, the deceased’s bodies were taken to a morgue while the injured victims’ bodies were taken to nearby hospitals.
Ahmed Umar, the FRSC Sector Commander for the state, expressed sympathy with the victims’ families and warned drivers against speeding and violation of traffic laws.
