FORMER Director of Marketing at The Guardian Newspaper, Dr Yemi Ogunbiyi, will on Thursday, October 26 at 6 pm, be on stage to feature in “My Kind of Music,” one of the highly-anticipated items in the ongoing Musical Society of Nigeria’s Festival of Arts,  MUSON Festival, which holds October 20-29.

The former Drama Teacher at the University of Ife, and now CEO of Tanus Communications, will be joined by three other eminent Nigerians and art patrons — Dupe Kachi (IgeSings), Sir Kayode Adeluola (SAN), and Sola ‘Schullzz’ Mogaji — to thrill the audience as they discuss their special taste in music while providing reasons why they made those choices.

The event holds at the Festival’s base, the MUSON Centre, King George V Road, Onikan, Lagos.

My Kind of Music has been one of the most patronised items at the Festival since it was birthed 27 years ago.

The annual MUSON Festival, kicks off on Friday, October 20 on a high note with staging of  ‘Efunsetan Iyalode Ibadan’, written by Akinwumi Sesan, and directed by Yomi Duro-Ladipo, which also ran on Saturday, October 21.

With “Resilience” as theme, the 2023 edition commemorates 40th anniversary of the founding of the organisation. The edition serves as an “avenue to remember the founding fathers of the society consisting of both the living and the dead who fought doggedly in birthing and sustaining the MUSON in the past four decades,” according to a statement, by the Society’s Festival directorate.

The Festival is also featuring an art exhibition featuring the works of Professor Bruce Onabrakpeya, the collections of Folio Designs, and the works of other artists.

Various other choral, classical, and related music concerts are also to be staged in the course of the festival, ending October 29.
