FORMER minister Sadiya Umar-Farouq returned home yesterday night after a 12-hour marathon interrogation by anti-graft investigators, and his hearing is scheduled to begin today at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters in Abuja.
The former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development is being investigated for alleged money laundering of N37.1 billion.
She appeared at the EFCC’s Jabi Headquarters about 10:18 a.m. yesterday to respond to the Commission’s request to provide clarification on various issues under investigation.
The former minister spent a lengthy time with the EFCC interrogators. The session yesterday finished around 10.30 p.m., following which she was allowed to return home.
Sadiya is set to return today for more clarification on various problems raised by the Commission during its preliminary investigations.
Meanwhile, Sadiya’s successor, Betta Edu, is scheduled in the EFCC office today to discuss a messy distribution disbursement under investigation by the anti-graft agency.
