BANDITS killed seven people in three communities in the Logo Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State.
According to local sources, suspected herders carried three separate attacks on Sunday in Logo LGA’s Mchia, Arufu, and Chembe villages.
Joseph Anawa, a community leader in the region, stated that the massacre in Mchia occurred in the morning and that some corpses had been retrieved, while others remain missing.
Anawa went on to say that the second attack occurred at night between Arufu and Chembe villages, and that the bandits shot at a commercial truck headed to Iorza, injuring the occupants to varying degrees. They are presently being treated at Anyiin Hospital.
Adagbe Jonathan, Council Chairman of Logo LGA, confirmed the attacks to journalists in Makurdi, the state capital. He stated that seven bodies have been discovered from the bushes by residents and police.
The council chairman stated that the attack occurred around 9 p.m. on Sunday, with five corpses recovered that night and the remaining two discovered yesterday morning.
The state’s police spokesman, Sewuese Anene, had failed to respond to calls and a text message sent through her phone at the time this report was filed.
