JUSTICE Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned Nnamdi Kanu’s case against the Federal Government until February 8th, 2024.

Kanu stated in his lawsuit that the FG kidnapped him from Kenya and brought him to Nigeria for trial.

He also requested an order for his release from the Department of State Services’ custody.

Kanu urged the court to order the FG to pay him N50 billion in damages.

The Federal Government and Attorney General of Federation (AGF) filed a preliminary objection calling the claim an abuse of the legal process and requesting the court to dismiss it.

The defendants stated that Kanu had previously filed a complaint with similar facts before a Federal High Court in Umuahia.

At the hearings, Aloy Ejimakor informed the court that he had taken up the case from Mike Ozekhome.

The trial judge then asked Ejimakor to determine whether a similar subject was not before a sister court or if a judgement had been rendered in a similar suit.
