On Wednesday, Cristiano Ronaldo broke the all-time international goal scoring record with his 110th goal for Portugal, taking him past Iranian great Ali Daei’s mark.
The 36-year-old, who confirmed his return to Manchester United from Juventus, scored an 89th-minute equaliser in Portugal’s World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland in Faro.
In the first half of the match, he missed a penalty.
With the goal against the Republic of Ireland, Ronaldo broke Ali Daei’s international scoring record of 109.
This comes after Manchester United announced on Friday that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner would be joining them from Juventus.
Ronaldo is expected to make his United return at home against Newcastle on September 11
