SEPTEMBER 25, the people of Oworonshoki will host the 2024 Slum Party, a creative platform that uses dance and performance art to redefine the perceptions of slums in Nigeria.
The Slum Party, initiated by Obiajulu Ozegbe, is also designed as a mobilisation project for communal educational platform for enlightenment, empowerment and sharing of vital information that would bless the members.
Thus the 2024 Slum Party, will go beyond dances ad cultural splashes. It will spotlight the staging of a campaign for the prevention of Cervical Cancer, a deadly ailment that continues to decimate the female population in Africa, and other parts of the world.
Initiated by Lucia Ikediashi of Shimmers Services in partnership with Omotola Ibeh of 09.16 Enterprises, the campaign seeks to empower women through education and community engagement. This particular edition is sponsored by Hydrocarbon Advisors Limited.

Free screenings will be held throughout the day, encouraging attendees to reflect on these narratives while fostering a deeper understanding of the role the cervix plays in women.”
Ikediashi disclosed further, “Irie Vibes Fest aims to create an inclusive atmosphere where community members can come together to celebrate art and culture. Reggae music will be played throughout the day, and freshly fried hot and succulent puff puff will be served to all the women, ensuring a vibrant and festive environment.
