THE Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has directed all commands of the Nigeria Police Force to implement a strategic plan to reduce crime by 50%.

He issued this directive today at the opening of the 5th Annual Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The 2025 edition of the event, themed “Improving Nigeria’s Internal Security and Economic Prosperity Through Inclusive Policing,” aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s security agenda.

IGP Egbetokun stressed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to building a professional, intelligence-driven force capable of addressing emerging security threats.

He highlighted ongoing collaborations with the military and other security agencies, noting that joint efforts against banditry, kidnapping, and organized crime are already producing positive results.

Speaking at the event, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun announced plans to provide electric motorcycles to the police to improve security operations in the state.

He also revealed a partnership with a French company to deploy drones capable of detecting criminal activities from as high as 8,000 feet.
