THE Super Falcons will confidently await their group phase opponents as the Confederation of African Football has confirmed the date for the draw for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The Nigerian ladies overcame both Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire to qualify for the competition and recently held Olympic champions Canada to a 2-2 in a high-level friendly.
The nine-time African champions will know their WAFCON group phase opponents during the draw on Monday, 25 April.
This year’s tournament will be held in Morocco from 2 July to 23 July, with the four semi-finalists qualifying to represent Africa at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia/New Zealand.
The 12 teams that have qualified to play at the 12th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations are Morocco, Nigeria, Uganda, Burundi, Zambia, Togo, Senegal, Tunisia, Botswana, Cameroon, South Africa, Burkina Faso.
The Super Falcons, who are the defending champions, will be one of the seeded teams for the draw.
The 12 teams will be divided into four groups of three teams each.
