KEBBI: 2,000 farmers to benefit from Farmers Club International

AS part of efforts to curb poverty and empower youth and farmers, the Farmers Club International has launched Operation Save Our Farmers Initiatives in Kebbi State.

Speaking during the lunching of the initiative yesterday at Abdullahi Fodio Secondary School Birnin Kebbi, the National President of the Club, Olusegun Gabriel Kehinde said that no fewer than 2,000 farmers will benefit from the programme in the state, adding that the club will be willing to absorb farmers that are interested in any form of farming.

He added that the Farmers Club International have established its presence in some African countries, Europe and America and engaged all the executive officials of the club in capacity building and training in order to expand their scope in Agricultural business and understand more about the core values which is the Agriculture value chain.

“Those who are ready to participate in any unit of the value chain and those who are genuinely interested in starting Agro business’ he said.

According to Olusegun, the mission of the programme is to make Agricultural business revolution a source of employment and peaceful reincarnation and co-existence among nations, while the vision is to change the face of Agricultural business towards empowering citizens and providing affordable food for all across the globe.

Inaugurating the state new executive officials, the FCI President admonished them to work hard towards settling the farmers and Fulani in order to have a smooth peace in the communities.

“The FCI is a business of food which is the source of life and the main hub is the Agricultural value chain’ he added.

The state Director of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Joseph Yaro Machika applauded the programme.
