TOTTENHAM Hotspur returned to the top of the Premier League with a 2-0 win over North London rivals Arsenal on Sunday.
Heung-min Son and Harry Kane scored first-half goals to hand Jose Mourinho’s side a comfortable victory.
Son set Tottenham Hotspur on their way with a fine opening goal, curling in a superb effort from the edge of the Arsenal box off a Kane assist in the 13th minute.
It was the South Korea forward’s 10th league goal of the season.
He returned the favour to Kane in first-half added time as the England striker struck his 11th goal in 11 North London derbies and his eighth goal of the Premier League season.
Arsenal huffed and puffed in the second half and had the majority of the possession but they could not break down a resolute Tottenham Hotspur defence.
With Sunday’s victory, Mourinho has now won 40 London derbies in the Premier League, with only Arsène Wenger winning more (106), according to Opta statistics.
Tottenham have won successive Premier League games against Arsenal for the first time since April to November 2010, under Harry Redknapp.
