Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers expressed his frustration on Wednesday night after his team lost 2-0 at home to Everton in their Premier League clash.Everton scored through Richarlison and Mason Holgate with Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi impressive as part of a three-man attack.Iwobi assisted Richarlison’s goal in the 21st minute.”We’re frustrated,” Rodgers told LCFC TV. “We had enough of the ball, got into really good areas throughout the evening but just lacked that bit of quality in our play tonight to create any clear chances.”Obviously, Jamie (Vardy) had a good opportunity from a header just after they scored. It looked like we had a penalty, which felt a penalty for everyone, and I think you see Carlo’s (Carlo Ancelotti’s) reaction, he thinks the player’s (André Gomes) made a mistake, challenging him from behind.“That was frustrating, but ultimately, the two goals we gave away were poor goals. When you do that against a team that will sit deep, then that makes it difficult.”Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi filled in as an emergency centre-back for Leicester City but Rodgers was not impressed with his side’s defending for the goals.“I don’t think we had the luck this evening, that’s for sure, but sometimes that’s the way it goes,” the Leicester City manager continued.”I think across the league every team is searching for that consistency, but what’s important is you can’t let it derail you.“Yes, it’s one of those where you drive home, and you can’t understand how you’ve lost the game.“There’s a lot of work that’s gone in from the players and listen, our players tonight, their effort and everything they give to the game was very, very good.“It was just two disappointing goals from our perspective. I think across the league every team is searching for that consistency, but what’s important is you can’t let it derail you. You’ve got to press the reset button again.”Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho was a 73rd minute substitute for Leicester City as they chased the game, but he could not make meaningful impact.Leicester City, who dropped to fourth in the table, are away to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday for their next league fixture.Everton, now fifth, are home to Arsenal on Sunday.
