THE nine commissioners who most recently resigned have been invited for screening by the Rivers State House of Assembly, which is chaired by Rt Hon. Martin Amaewhule.
Emeka Amadi, the clerk of the Rivers State House of Assembly, made this announcement today.
Recall that the reappointment of the commissioners who resigned was a part of the eight-point peace program that FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara signed.
The statement reads as follows:
“Public announcement the Rivers State House of Assembly hereby invites the following Commissioner -nominees for screening and confirmation as Members of the Rivers State Executive Council.

2. Dr. Jacobson Mbina DSSRS
3. Dr. Gift Worlu
4. Mrs Inime Chinwenwo- Aguma DSSRS
5. Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke FNSE DSSRS
6. Prof. Prince Chinedu Mmom DSSRS
7. Dr. George-Kelly D. Alabo FNIQS DSSRS
8. Hon. Isaac Kamalu DSSRS
9. Engr. Austin Ben Chioma

The move is coming months after the nominees resigned from their positions as Fubara cabinet commissioners due to a political standoff between the state’s immediate past governor, Wike, and Fubara.
President Bola Tinubu intervened in the issue and brokered peace between the two, resulting in the signing of an eight-point agreement. Their re-nomination is part of the peace agreement.
