SUPER Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru will be playing in Serie A next season for Lazio, according to reports from Italy.

The 23-year-old Nigeria international is on the verge of completing his switch from Hatayspor in Turkey to the Rome-based club.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reported last night that the clubs have reached an agreement for Dele-Bashiru to join Lazio on loan with an obligation to make the move permanent.

Dele-Bashiru, who scored his first Super Eagles goal in the 1-1 draw with South Africa in June, is expected to undergo his Lazio medical this week and put pen to paper to formalise the move.

Dele-Bashiru, who is currently contracted to Hatayspor until 2026, will play on loan for a year for Lazio, who will have an obligation to buy him permanently for €6 million.

The England-born midfielder is expected to sign for Lazio until 2028 when his move is made permanent next year.

Dele-Bashiru scored nine goals and made six assists in 39 appearances in all competitions for Hatayspor last season, his first campaign in Turkey after joining on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday.

He began his career with Manchester City, playing for their U-18s and U-23s before joining Sheffield Wednesday in July 2020.
