TENANTS 2

Directed by the ace cineaste, Kunle Afolayan (Irapada, Figurine, Phone Swap, October 1, Mokaliki etc), the movie stars Joselyn Dumas alongside Yakub Muhammad, Dele Odule, Isa Bello, Chris Iheuwa, Rashida Lobo, Funky Malam among other famous Nollywood actors.

The story is by Okediran, former representative of Oyo North in the House of Reps, “Tenants of The House”, while the screenplay is by Tunde Babalola. Tenants... is inspired by Okediran’s 2009 award-winning novel with the same title; and according to Okediran, who doubles as producer, it is a fictional retelling of happenings during his stay in the lower chamber of the National Assembly.

The narration: In Nigeria, the Fulani-farmer conflict has been an unending nightmare, ravaging states in the South and North and leading to bloodletting and economic losses. The thrust of the film exposes the nagging issue of the conflict and, addresses corruption in high places and political class.

Since its premiere in Abuja in 2019, the film gained reputation as one of the few flicks to look out for on the politics of of governance in Nigeria. The wish to see it do the round of the cinemas has now been realised.
