A student in the 100-level at the Kwara State College of Education, Aminat Tajudeen, collapsed and passed away during a lecture.

It was learned that the incident occurred on Wednesday at about 1:30.pm

She was reportedly returning to class after picking up her matriculation gown for the ceremony that was scheduled for today.

According to a senior member of the school staff who asked that his name not be published because he was not allowed to speak about the incident the late Aminat was taken to the school clinic after she suddenly slumped during a lecture.

For her Janazah and burial, she was later taken to the Muslim cemetery in Osere.

While speaking at her burial, the deceased father was quoted to have said that “she showed no sign or symptom of any sickness. We had quite a lengthy discussion on several issues before I escorted her to get a cab to the school.”

When contacted this evening, the college Public Relations Officer, Abibat Zubair who confirmed the incident, told PUNCH that she was a student of Music/Yoruba, adding that she was mourned by the college and students during the matriculation ceremony.

“The Provost visited the parents yesterday to sympathise with them and also mourned her today during the matriculation ceremony together with the students,” the PRO said.
